Source: The obituary is from a collection by Fauniel Hershberger, saved the 1950's, 60's and 70's. She was a life long resident of Fountain County Indiana.  The collection is now housed at Crawfordsville District Public Library.

PERRYSVILLE, Ind. (CNS ) -- Joseph M. Hinton, 76, of Perrysville, died at 10:40 a.m. Saturday (July 17, 1971) at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Danville. Born March 31, 1895, in Bismarck, he was the son of Asa and Lorenda Ramsey Hinton. Mr. Hinton was never married. A World War I veteran and a retired painter, he was a member of the American Legion Post in Perrysville and worked for Peabody Coal Mining Co. No. 24 in Catlin in his early life. Survivors include one sister, Mrs. Gladys Hegg of Danville, and two brothers, William of Perrysville and Forrest of Mentone, Calif. He was preceded in death by four sisters. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home in Covington with the Rev. Edgar Allen officiating. Burial will be in the Hicks Cemetery in Perrysville with a military service at the grave. Friends will be received after 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.  -- typed by Walt W
